The Quality Assurance and Regulatory Division (QARD) in the Department of Education, is the delegated Regulatory Authority for early childhood education and care services in Victoria. QARD is responsible for ensuring the safety, health and wellbeing of children using those services. The Division protects children from harm by regulating approximately 4,900 education and care services including family day care, outside school hours care, long day care and kindergarten programs, as required by the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (National Law) and its associated regulations.
- Assist in team-based projects as required.

**About the role**:
Program Officers in this team enjoy a diverse role with duties typically including:

- Providing advice to providers, educators, staff and members of the public about requirements under the National Quality Framework
- Identifying emerging issues and risks and developing options to mitigate
- Assisting with Branch projects as required

**About You**:
We are looking for individuals with an excellent client service ethos and an understanding of modern regulatory approaches in a high volume licensing environment. An ability to understand and use regulatory concepts and practices is required, in addition to excellent written and verbal communications skills and attention to detail which are essential.
This role would suit persons interested in working in the Early Childhood Services Sector or wanting to gain experience in a busy regulatory environment. Applicants should have a strong customer service ethos and attention to detail.
This is an ongoing fixed term (until 8 March 2024) position at the VPS3 level based in Melbourne.
