**A bit about the role**

In the position of Preschool Field Officer, you will be reporting to the Area Leader Preschool Field Officer and will work collaboratively with a range of highly skilled professionals within the Family Sector and Partnerships Unit. Our team is at the centre of supporting an integrated service approach, where practitioners work collaboratively together to deliver services, support children, families and our communities.

This role will be responsible for supporting and empowering Early Childhood professionals to gain the confidence in providing inclusive and responsive programs that align with the principles of the Victorian Early Years Framework.

You will also lead the Early Years Partnership Alliance including governance, management and quality improvement.

**What you’ll deliver**
- Provide consultation, support and advice to Early Childhood professionals and families through the provision of developmental observations, planning and teaching strategies for children with developmental concerns, additional needs and/or diagnosed disabilities.
- Support the facilitation of referral pathways, funding and resources available for children (e.g. allied health providers)
- Advocate on behalf of children and their families by providing information and advice to Council senior leadership and funding bodies
- Understanding of program strategies and adaptations to support children's learning

**What you’ll bring**
- Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative partnerships with other professionals, build and manage a diverse range of networks and form positive working relationships with early childhood professionals.
- Demonstrated experience understanding of the impact of trauma and disadvantage on a child’s development and the importance of relationships in fostering a child’s learning and development.
- Demonstrated experience in responding to the diversity of children, families and educators. Understanding the values and needs of our diverse community, including cultural parenting practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood is required, with experience in planning and delivering high quality inclusive kindergarten programs. Additional qualifications or experience working in Early Intervention is highly desirable.
- Current Victorian Driver's License, Police and Working with Children's checks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian Child Safe standards and reporting obligations.
