**Selection Criteria**:
Brighton Primary School is seeking an experienced leader of learning intervention who will work to lead the development of school processes and a team of small group teaching tutors and integration aides around the best possible literacy and numeracy achievement, engagement and wellbeing outcomes for students.

CT1. Demonstrated high level of knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated high level of ability to respond to student learning needs.

CT2. Demonstrated high level of ability to lead the planning and implementation of high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.

CT3. Demonstrated high level of ability to closely monitor and assess student learning. Demonstrated high level of ability to use data to lead to improved teaching practice and to provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students, teachers and parents.

CT4. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. Demonstrated high level of ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.

CT5. Knowledge of or experience with the Professional Learning Community model and how this role would support and enhance Response to Intervention.

CT6. Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values. Demonstrated high level of ability to reflect upon practice and engage in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching and learning.

**Role**:
Range 2 classroom teachers play a significant role in assisting the school to improve student performance and educational outcomes determined by the school strategic plan and state-wide priorities and contributing to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities.

A critical component of this work will focus on increasing the knowledge base of staff within their school about student learning and high quality instruction to assist their school to define quality teacher practice.

Range 2 classroom teachers will be expected to:

- Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students
- Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach other teachers in the school to engage in critical reflection of their practice and to support staff to expand their capacity
- Provide expert advice about the content, processes and strategies that will shape individual and school professional learning
- Supervise and train one or more student teachers
- Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches that enable targets related to improving student learning outcomes to be achieved.

The Learning Intervention teacher is a full-time position.

**Responsibilities**:
**RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Learning Support teacher may include but is not limited to:

- Collaborating with the leadership team including the Teaching & Learning Specialist/s as well as the teams of teachers (PLC¿s) and parents
- Implement direct teaching of groups of students and individual students in conjunction with the grade level teacher teams.
- Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Providing coordination support to teachers and educational programs including Story Dogs, Rotary readers and lunch time clubs..
- Participating in the monitoring and evaluation of programs and evaluation of individual student involvement and achievement.
- Providing routine supervision, guidance and support to student support staff at ES Level 1 Range 1 & 2 (and tutors).
- Liaising with external providers of support services about clearly defined support needs and resources
- Conducting routine presentations to and meetings with parents to assist teachers in communicating objectives and outcomes relating to educational programs and/or students
- Providing specialised knowledge that is relied upon to deliver support services, under direction.
- Manipulating data / information and prepare documentation / basic reports
- Participating in team meetings, grade level meetings and leadership meetings when required
- Ensuring confidentiality of student records is maintained
- Supporting teachers with the implementation and monitoring of IEP learning goals.
