We are committed to fostering community connection, youth empowerment, and environmental custodianship through engaging educational programs and community initiatives.
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team in the newly created role of Culture & Community Programs Facilitator. In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of educational community-engagement programs, and youth-focused community engagement programs, connecting local community members and visitors to Studley Park Boathouse and its surrounding park.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and delivery of educational and community engagement programs, with a focus on the youth engagement program: Mini Explorers.
- Champion youth empowerment and safety, embedding Child Safety within venue policies, procedures, and staff culture.
- Liaise with external facilitators and partners, such as Parks Vic, to create engaging place-based programs and events reflecting the needs and interests of the local community.
- Develop and manage budgets for programs and events, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations in collaboration with the legal team.
- Respond to the Commission for Children and Young People’s Child Safety Standards, both within the venue and more broadly.
- Successfully manage community and educational programs from conception to completion, building strong relationships with stakeholders and receiving positive feedback from participants.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to promote programs and events.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, providing regular reports to management to ensure the success of community engagement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in leading the development and delivery of educational and community engagement programs.
- Strong commitment to youth empowerment, safety, and Child Safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with community members, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Budget management experience and ability to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Previous experience responding to Child Safety Standards and implementing policies and procedures accordingly.
- Demonstrated success in managing programs from conception to completion, with positive feedback from participants.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
