**About the Role**

The Program Scheduler position sits within Maintenance Operations, Transport Services and is a expert in developing program and project schedules, plans and work packages, and establishing and executing monitoring projects to provide for the timely delivery of a large and complex roads program. The role is also responsible for considering program and project risks and optimising program and project plans. As an Adviser, this is a pivotal role which will work closely with senior leaders, program coordinators and project managers.

**Position Accountabilities**
- Effectively develop program plans and schedules to meet project objectives.
- Established and continually improve program and project management practices to deliver projects more consistently on time.
- Provide accurate and timely advice on achievement of program and project outcomes. This includes the development and provision of reports that are effective in assisting program and project governance to correct deviations from workplans.
- Provide expert advice on complex schedule delays leading to improved commercial outcomes. Also use high level analytical skills to support the analysis of contractor programs leading to improved supplier performance and reducing or mitigating schedule delays.
- Ensure Project Managers and leaders have been supported with timely and accurate reviews of project status. The Program Scheduler has effectively supported project leadership to enhance the capability of project teams in the review of project status.
- Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

To be successful in this role you will engage key stakeholders in the strategic planning process, thinking at the whole system level and considering a wide range of possibilities to develop a future vision. You will translate strategic direction into actionable team and individual plans, ensuring alignment with daily activities. Your understanding of clients’ or stakeholders’ contexts will enable you to design and implement systems for continuous improvement, reviewing and analysing information to enhance effectiveness and quality. You will consider historical, political, and broader contexts to inform project direction and mitigate risks while balancing the needs of clients, the team, and the organisation. Your approach to data will consider volume, variety, velocity, and veracity, establishing effective data collection and analysis methods to support decision-making. Additionally, your skills in negotiating and influencing stakeholders will be crucial in achieving successful outcomes.

**Qualifications and Experience**
**Mandatory**
- Extensive experience developing and implementing accurate, reliable, high-quality program, and project reporting for relevant governance and executive committees.
- Highly proficient in common scheduling programs, including Microsoft Project.
