Property, Procurement and Asset Manager

Geelong, Australia IPA Personnel Services Full time

Working for a Local Government organisation, our client is looking for a Property, Procurement and Asset Manager for a 3-month temporary assignment to start ASAP. The role will require you to work 5 days a week, Monday to Friday working 37.5 hours per week. This will be a hybrid working model with 1-2 days in the office per week, which is based in the heart of Geelong CBD. The role is paying $115 plus super per hour.

Reporting into the Director of Customer and Corporate Services, you will lead a team of four. This position will be responsible for a broad portfolio and encompasses management and leadership of various teams.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

- Provide strong leadership and management to the Department, ensuring planning for staff development.
- Lead and develop Council procurement activities in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Establish, implement and maintain governance, policies and continuous improvement procedures in procurement management.
- Manage resources, including the preparation of clear goals, the department's annual budgets and subsequent business plans and performance plans.

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven background and experience in working in a leadership role within procurement, financial management or Assets management. This role will require someone with an appropriate tertiary and/or postgraduate financial, property, commercial or procurement qualification. A commercial mindset and extensive experience working in one or more of these key functions is essential. You must have the ability to manage large multi-layer budgets across different delivery areas as well as the ability to adapt, contribute and monitor complex contract arrangements. Excellent communication is key and have the ability to build strong repour with key stakeholders. You must have great time management skills and organization skills, while able to hit the ground running and adapt to forever changing environments. Strong attention to detail and proficient in all Microsoft office products.
