The Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (Victoria 2026) will deliver the Games. Together between the State of Victoria, the Commonwealth Games Federation and Commonwealth Games Australia, it is tasked with organising a world-class event for athletes, spectators, locals and the Commonwealth of Nations.
About the Role
A once in a lifetime opportunity to come and work on the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games in our procurement team
You will play a pivotal role in delivering our procurement strategy by undertaking the sourcing process, developing and executing category strategies, identifying and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and building strong relationships with suppliers. This position requires a results-driven individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong leadership abilities, and a focus on value for money without compromising the delivery of the Commonwealth Games.
Reporting to the Manager Strategic Sourcing and Category Management, you will be responsible for:

- Managing or supporting a portfolio of procurements to meet time, budget, quality and resource parameters in accordance with good professional practices, legislative requirements, Victorian Government Procurement frameworks and polices, and Victoria 2026's Procurement Strategy, policies and procedures
- Assisting in the effective negotiation of contracts to secure goods and services on the most advantageous value for money terms, via procurement strategies or value in kind sponsorship deals
- Assisting in developing and implementing a strategic plan for the category that aligns with overall business objectives including conducting research and analysing market trends to stay informed on market developments and opportunities, and identifying vendors to supply products and negotiating contracts to ensure competitive pricing and quality

**To be successful in this role, you will**:

- Have an understanding of procurement principles, practices and techniques
- Have proven experience in developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships and overseeing procurement processes
- Have an understanding of one or more relevant procurement categories for the Commonwealth Games (including but not limited games operations and services, marketing and communications, ceremonies and festivals, employees and volunteers, commercial activities and construction)
