**Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage in a**
**APS6 Procurement and Contracts Officer**
**for a 12-month assignment with potential extension in GEELONG VIC**

**About the Team**:
The Procurement and Corporate Services Branch support the NDIA business areas by providing corporate, procurement and property services.

**About the role**:
The APS6 Procurement Officer (Labour Hire) is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.

The APS6 Procurement Officer (Labour Hire) is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support

**Key skills required for role**:

- Previous Procurement experience, preferably in a Government Agency or Department
- Strong communication skills

**Desirable skills to have for the role**:

- Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR's)
- SAP experience

**Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:

- Working collaboratively with NDIA business areas as a procurement business partner to establish appropriate procurement methodologies, preparing a range of procurement documentation, evaluating tenders and negotiating contracts.
- Managing and undertaking procurement reporting and verification activities, and processing procurements through the financial management system.
- Maintaining and implementing procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Providing specialist procurement advice and ensuring NDIA procurement activities are conducted in line with legislative requirements, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the NDIA Procurement Policy to deliver value for money outcomes that contribute to better social and economic outcomes for people with disability.
- Providing quality and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders, including guidance and reporting to the Branch Leadership, and the Executive Leadership Team.
- Manage and deliver procurement related compliance reporting, this includes regular reviews of procurement activities against relevant legislative requirements, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the NDIA Procurement Policy. Collaborate with stakeholders to provide advice and resolve any procurement related compliance issues.
- Work collaboratively with the Procurement Framework team to develop appropriate compliance checking process, and relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
- Manage Conflict of Interest register for procurement staff, including liaising with individuals to ensure that it is completed.
- Provide input to the development of procurement training materials.
