The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of it’s kind in Australia. **About the Role**

The Administration Officer will play a key role supporting the program staff in working with Aboriginal children and families, Government and sector partners to reduce the over representation of Aboriginal children in care, strive for better outcomes for children and to build capacity in families so that children can be transitioned home. This position will support the Nugel senior management team, as well as three teams of case managers.

In addition, support will be provided to the Care Services management team and staff as required. The position is also part of the Western Administration team and will provide support to that unit as required, including providing coverage during times of staff leave.

**About you**
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people.
- Demonstrated understanding in working with Aboriginal families and children
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, culturally appropriate and respectful way with a range of stakeholders including staff, Government and agency partners and clients
- High level organisational skills including time management and the ability to work as an effective team member
- **Requirement**: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain), a Police Check, and a full Victorian Drivers Licence
