The Federal Government appointed Country SA PHN to enhance the delivery of focused and appropriate health services to the rural communities of South Australia. The goal of the organisation is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health services for people, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes, improve the coordination of health services, and increase access and quality support for people.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Executive Manager - Strategic Engagement will lead engagement with key stakeholders across South Australia to understand their influence on primary health care and relationship to CSAPHN strategy. The role seeks and drives relationships across health networks and systems and brokers strategic partnerships to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of primary health care services.

The Executive Manager - Strategic Engagement will steer, and be responsible for, the activities of the Community Collaborations Team, the Primary Care & Digital Support Team, and the Rural Health Innovation Fund, to act as the conduit through which CSAPHN responds to community and clinical need.

The Executive Manager - Strategic Engagement will participate as an active member of the executive team and will possess key capabilities in the management of projects that intersect across teams and portfolios; with the ability to influence activity design, procurement and commissioning outcomes and performance across internal and external partnerships where applicable.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Seek and drive strategic relationships across health networks and systems, with health providers and other key stakeholder groups, to build local capacity, resilience and sustainable primary health care services and workforce.
- Represent CSAPHN at an executive level in identified local, state, and national forums to ensure the rural voice is considered in planning and decision-making across the broader health system.
- Work productively with the CSAPHN Clinical Council to maintain and develop this essential link between primary health care providers and the Board.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Primary Care & Digital Support team to ensure all primary care support and development activities are aligned with CSAPHN strategic direction.
- Lead the Rural Health Innovation Fund and ensure the Fund is aligned to supporting organisations and activities that make transformative improvements in the health and wellbeing of country South Australians.

**Key requirements**:

- A relevant post graduate tertiary qualification and /or experience in a health related discipline, health administration, business management or equivalent experience at an executive level.
- Significant experience at an executive level, including superior strategic thinking and demonstrable experience in high level stakeholder engagement and partnership building.
- A leader with the ability to inspire high performing teams by encouraging ethical behaviour and inclusivity that supports an engaged, collaborative and innovative workforce.
- Expertise in understanding current health care trends and rural community issues in the South Australian context.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and connections with a wide range of key internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a focus on negotiation and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
