Purpose:
To manage the dental team and operations of the practice to provide high-quality dental procedures with a high level of customer care to our members and patients all within the THF guidelines. To achieve sustainable and efficient out-puts by managing the resources of the centre effectively and efficiently.

Key Result Tasks:
The Dental Practice Manager will work collaboratively with the centre’s dental staff and regularly report to the Senior Dental Manager. Open, effective, and reciprocal communication is the cornerstone for these relationships and will contribute to the success of the DPM in their role. The Dental Practice Manager’s main duties and responsibilities are:

- Ensure the centres and clinic’s invoices are processed on time and as per THF guidelines
- Working within the budget of the dental stream for the centre
- Maintain knowledge of, and fulfil the duties of a dental assistant and a dental receptionist
- Always maintain patient and centre confidentiality and monitor feedback from patients and responding as appropriate
- To ensure that materials and consumables are being ordered and restocked at the best price for the dental practice to operate.
- Ensure infection control policy and procedures are implemented and adopted by the dental auxiliary team
- Ensure equipment and systems are maintained to the manufacturers standards and conditions.
- Support all direct reports to carry out their duties and responsibilities as per their relevant position description through regular group meetings and one on one’s
- Conduct staff audits, probation, and Heart2Heart conversations (THF performance review) for direct reports
- Identifying performance issues and determining the appropriate response. Determining when the performance response needs to be managed in conjunction with P&L
- Coordinating and maintaining the roster for each month of the dental auxiliary team and arrange cover for the team when required during sickness absence and periods of leave
- Confirming the timesheets each fortnight for the dental auxiliary team
- Involvement, where appropriate, in the recruitment process, and overseeing the onboarding

process/induction of new staff for the dental team.
- Abiding by the Teachers Health code of conduct and conducting oneself with professionalism

and the attitudes that comprise our HEART culture
- Actively promoting a member-centric ethos conducive to achieving high rates of member satisfaction,

high performance, job and employee satisfaction, co-operation, and teamwork
- Actively manage and contribute to THF Risk/Compliance, Gender Equality, Work Health & Safety &
Heart Culture elements

The role of Dental Practice Manager is a permanent full-time position. However, from time to time,

the Practice Manager may be required to work reasonable additional hours, as necessary, to fulfil

the requirements of the position or as requested by the Senior Dental Manager or Clinical Director.

This may include working outside business hours and during weekends, which is paid for at overtime

rates. The Dental Practice Manager will participate in a formal performance review process at two

and five months and then on an annual basis thereafter, in addition to regular performance

feedback.
