We are currently seeking a highly motivated Business Manager to join their team in Newcastle. As the Business Manager you will have the responsibility of managing the overall operational performance and revenue generation for your branch. The role will see you foster strong relationships with key customers and drive strategic outcomes with your team. Working collectively with other departments you will contribute to sales growth, ensure compliance and adhere to safety requirements.

**The role**
- Sound and proven business management skills are critical to the position, as is prior experience in a sales / customer driven environment and the ability to understand / interpret financial data.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy in accordance with established policy and procedures along with direction from General Manager and/or CEO.
- Account for the profitable operation of the Sydney Branch and achievement of their respective targets and budget objectives.
- Ensure and is responsible as the principal representative of the Company for the managerial control of an operations centre dealing with the specific activities of hire, sales, site works and transport of the company’s products as well as the Branch’s human resources, focusing on but not limited to:

- Constantly reviewing the way the branch approaches selling and how to measure and manage the branch sales teams.
- Sales approaches that respond to the way customers buy and improving customer service delivery.
- Optimisation of rates and utilisation across all products, customers and sectors. Concentrating on precisely defined target market segments that are counter cyclical or not cycle dependant.
- Boosting sales productivity of sales teams through performance measurement, management and mentoring.
- Keep senior management informed of past trading trends, current trends and activities and forecasts of expected activity.
- Highly effective communication skills (written and verbal) are considered essential, as are strong people management skills together with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise daily activities.
- The ability to lead and motivate others is required, as is possessing a positive, flexible and hands on approach to daily situations.
- A strong understanding and working knowledge of WHS Regulations would be necessary. Ensures that operations conform to local, State and Federal government regulations, possess a reasonable degree of computer literacy.

- Lead your team to achieve milestones in line with company strategic goals
- Be a cultural leader and mentor for the team
- Develop strong relationships internally across all levels and with customers
- Deliver outcomes in a safe and productive manner
- Champion safety and wellbeing of all employees
- Engage with the company's values and way of working
- Manage the financial reporting and present accordingly
- Drive and engage in strategic sales initiatives and growth

**About you**
Experience, drive, focus and technical knowledge are all key factors that will help you succeed in the role. Coming from a dedicated managerial and sales background, your strong communication skills, leadership capability and ability to oversee key business metrics will be pivotal in your ability to execute in this role. Experience from within the hire/service industry will be highly regarded.
