About You

This role will lead a student-focused engagement program to help students feel prepared, connected and engaged outside the classroom to drive a sense of community and belonging.

Co-designing and delivering the program with a group of highly motivated student leaders, this role will work closely with internal stakeholders and community partners to drive and promote engagement in campus life and set RMIT students up for success.

This role will also have a focus on triaging and enabling student ideas and projects that deliver social and development outcomes for the student leaders and participants.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:

- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and delivering a diverse and inclusive engagement program within a University or equivalent community.
- Experience managing/supervising volunteer and casual staff.
- Commitment to developing and maintaining pathways for student voice and involvement in the planning, management and delivery of programs.
- Demonstrated commitment to measuring customer experience satisfaction and adjusting strategies in response to feedback and changing priorities, in a service delivery environment.
- Ability to follow systems and processes for financial management, including tracking of revenue and expenditure against a budget.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to diversity, inclusion and reconciliation.

About the Portfolio

The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.

The Education Portfolio plays a key role in empowering students to access education, participate actively in the life of the University and achieve successful and fulfilling lives beyond graduation. The provision of a stimulating and satisfying experience for students is a priority for the University.
