**The Opportunity**

The Apprenticeship Employment Network (AEN) is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Support Officer to join the team.

This role will support the development and delivery of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies for the Big Build construction and infrastructure works. This position works closely with the Group Training Organisation (GTO) network and appointed construction contractors. Reporting to the Victorian Big Build Project Manager, this role requires an ability to work in a complex vocational employment and training environment. You will help build the profile of the new Construction Skills Pathway Program across private employers, Registered Training Organisations (RTO) and industry bodies with a focus on confirming placements, administration and ongoing support for Trainees/Apprentices in equity cohorts.

You will need to be well organised and able to work autonomously while also being an effective team player.

**You will be required to**:

- Facilitate and monitor current major project sites and challenges that may impact on GTO apprenticeships/traineeships and provide responses and advice on these issues.
- Represent the Association and its members in industry forums with major project contractors and Government officials.
- Host events to improve job-readiness and ongoing support of disadvantaged Victorian jobseekers into apprenticeship/traineeship employment.
- Engage with peak industry employers, building strong relationships that support the on-going placement of Apprentices/Trainees
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, endeavouring to understand their business needs and how the AEN can provide holistic workforce solutions
- Identify project needs and develop a detailed timeline for milestones and completion
- Monitor expenditure and create detailed reports for management
- Keep track of a project’s progress and adherence to defined targets and timeframes
- Work within budget constraints
- Liaise with and maintain networks appropriate to the needs of the AEN and this Position.
- Provide reporting on the progress and governance of the project.
- Actively promote the AEN and GTOs at events, networking functions
- Undertake the administration requirements of the project
- Provide support and advice on the project performance and future recommendations.

**Who are you?**

You will have:

- extensive knowledge and experience in the field of Vocational Education and Training and managing complex projects.
- knowledge of the implementation of major construction projects and apprenticeship training programs.
- demonstrated knowledge of industry, industry representation and the industry/government interface.
- highly developed conceptual and analytical skills including the capacity to provide advice relating to training and education, human resources and budget issues.
- highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to produce high level project reporting.
- highly developed computer skills including Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- an ability to work in a small team environment.
- a current driver’s license and Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain.
