**The Role**

In this newly created role, we’re looking for an experienced FP&A and Strategy Manager to join the Commercial Finance and Strategy senior leadership. As we continue on finance transformation journey, this role will play a leading role in partnering to C-Suite and Executive Leadership to provide insights and information to inform key business wide strategic decisions.
You will have your experience cemented in FP&A which will be a key backbone of your career, but ideally have bought that experience to life in a strategic role or team or have a passion to play a more strategic role as you will be responsible for Strategy Development and implementing a framework for short and mid-term Financial Planning. Focusing on addressing emerging business needs within the annual business planning cycle; focusing on stakeholder engagement, enablement and alignment across functional plans and priorities; leading the annual business planning process; and working together with the broader finance team to lead the periodic business plan update process.
**What Your Day Looks Like**
- Lead the Business Planning cycle including the Financial Planning and Analysis function identifying key trends in business performance, future risks, and opportunities.
- Support the development of Business Cases on transformational programs.
- Support the development of the Enterprise Strategy working with the ELT and the Board.
- Drive alignment across the key transformational program back to the David Jones Enterprise Strategy.
- Lead the development of external analysis, and benchmarking for the business.
- Facilitate the delivery of critical insights and actionable strategies to the business and supporting the execution of actions to optimise business performance and sustainability over time.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high performing team.
**What you’ll need to Thrive**
- Experience in managing business planning cycles having led an FP&A function (preferred).
- Demonstrated Strategic Thinking leveraging internal and external insights to align strategic initiatives to best achieve the business’ long-term goals.
- High levels of commercial and financial acumen with the ability to relate impacts across the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Problem solving and decision making experience with demonstrated experience leveraging sound scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to drive recommendations.
- An ability to collaborate with other team members to strive for sound outcomes.
- Tertiary Qualification in Accounting/Business.
- CA/CPA qualified
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills and an ability to influence at a senior level
- Ability to prioritise team’s workload across and manage multiple competing tasks.
- Ability to pre-empt business needs and present options for review.
- Strong team leadership experience, developing and coaching team members
