In this role, you will work closely with branches, making decisions confidently and demonstrating strong emotional intelligence.

Reporting to the Group Manager - Compliance & Risk, you will lead health and safety initiatives with a focus on people. You’ll provide practical solutions to ensure compliance with health and safety laws, aiming to reduce risks and prevent injuries. This role is key in promoting a positive health and safety culture in line with the Group’s Risk & Compliance Strategy.

**About the Role**

Your duties will be, but not limited to:

- Providing health and safety advice, guidance and support to management and staff.
- Develops and implements safety training programs designed to instruct employees in general safe work practices plus specific instruction with regard to hazards relative to our industry.
- Ensuring performance objectives / outcomes are achieved within agreed time frames.
- Mentor our managers to ensure that all staff and branches are operating in accordance with WHS compliance, by providing coaching, training, guidance,, effective communication, and timely reporting in all areas of Workplace Health and Safety
- Work with our staff to ensure that safety is in the forefront of business and day to day
- Monitor and work with our branch managers to ensure they cultivate their branches and personnel in delivering a safe work environment for all
- Conduct weekly analysis of incident trends, monitor safety performance and report any adverse trends immediately to Management
- Lead the process of incident investigations and ensure there are appropriate strategies to Return to Work
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work relevant business leaders to develop specific preventative strategies to mitigate reoccurrence
- Oversee and ensure compliance to Fleet Services and Maintenance Program. Identify and report on issues of non-compliance where the high standard of fleet and brand image of vehicles and equipment is not maintained
- Conducting Internal Audits of our Branches to ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify any operational inefficiencies and opportunities during audits whereby branches may add value and productivity improvement to their business outcomesWillingness and ability to travel interstate when required.

**About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, Risk Management (or working towards) or similar is required, Workplace Train the Trainer qualifications (highly desirable)
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a safety role, ideally within a blue-collar environment
- Research and analyse activities to identify and address WHS risks.
- A team player with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively deal with ambiguity and complex scenarios
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, professionalism and pride in their work
- Think strategically and provide guidance and direction to the business. This includes identifying opportunities for improvement, developing strategies to achieve business objectives, and providing innovative solutions.
- Passionate about achieving great results, enjoys measuring the success of projects and analysing how to improve next time
- Highly organised, outstanding time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
- Confidence dealing with all levels of Management and Directors
- Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Excel
- The ability to explain complex regulations in a clear and concise way.A proactive and problem-solving approach with excellent time management skills
