- We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced safety professional who works alongside and provides advice and guidance to operations and blue collar workforce in driving, influencing and leading a strong safety culture.
- Reporting to the Group Manager - Compliance & Risk you will champion health and safety initiatives for the business with a human centred approach. You will provide practical solutions to ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety legislation to minimise risks and prevent injuries in the workplace. The position plays a significant role in developing and fostering a positive health and safety culture in line with the Group’s Risk & Compliance Strategy.
- The role of Grace Safety Advisor reports to the Group Manager - Comliance & Risk and has no direct reports.**About the Role**

Your duties will be, but not limited to:
- Providing expert health and safety advice, guidance and support to management and staff.
- Supporting the successful implementation of safety initiatives.
- Ensuring performance objectives / outcomes are achieved within agreed time frames.
- Ensure that all staff and branches are operating in accordance with WHS-compliance, through the provision of coaching, training, guidance, development of programs, effective communication, and timely reporting in all areas of Workplace Health and Safety
- Ensure the development of safety in the workplace is part of our business and day to day
- Work with branch managers through clear instruction and direction, ensuring they cultivate their branches and personnel in delivering a safe work environment for all
- Lead the process of incident investigations and ensure there are appropriate strategies to Return to Work
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Conduct weekly analysis of incident trends, monitor safety performance and report any adverse trends immediately to Management
- Work within the wider safety network to develop specific preventative strategies to mitigate reoccurrence
- Manage and ensure compliance to Fleet Services and Maintenance Program. Identify and report on issues of non-compliance where the high standard of fleet and brand image of vehicles and equipment is not maintained
- Identify and lead the business of continuous improvement actions on a regular basis
- Identify any operational inefficiencies and opportunities during audits whereby branches may add value and productivity improvement to their business outcomes
- Conducting Internal Audits of our Branches to ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

**About You**
- Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, Injury Management or similar is required
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a safety/compliance role, ideally within a blue-collar environment
- A team player with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, professionalism and pride in their work
- A passion for achieving best practice in safety and business improvement
- Passionate about achieving great results, enjoys measuring the success of projects and analysing how to improve next time
- Highly organised, outstanding time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
- Demonstrated competence in conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confidence dealing with all levels of Management
- Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Excel
- Be A self-starter
