**Your role**

The Manager, Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability is responsible for delivering a broad range of compelling, innovative, and evidence-based strategies, programs, and initiatives to guide infrastructure planning, investment prioritisation, and asset management activities across NSW Department of Communities and justice (DCJ).

**What you’ll do**

The Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability team is currently delivering a range of exciting strategic projects and initiatives to support the ongoing transformation of infrastructure and asset management services across DCJ, including:

- Enterprise and portfolio-level infrastructure strategies
- Place-based infrastructure plans for priority growth areas and precincts
- Climate change and net zero strategies and programs
- Climate risk management activities
- Workplace and accommodation strategies
- Fleet and mobility strategies
- Innovation fund programs
- Research papers exploring the impacts of key emerging drivers and trends.

We currently have two vacancies in the team. Applicants are encouraged to indicate their preference for one (or both) of these roles based on the descriptions below:
The first vacant role will initially be focused on leading and supporting a range of place-based infrastructure planning projects and initiatives. This includes the development of place-based infrastructure plans that seek to improve the delivery of DCJ’s services and support the realisation of broader community and place-based outcomes.

Applicants who meet the focus capabilities outlined in the role description and have a strong understanding of NSW Government’s infrastructure strategies and policies, and experience working on place-based infrastructure planning initiatives will be highly considered.

The second vacant role will initially be focused on leading and supporting a range of projects and initiatives to help improve DCJ’s climate risk management maturity and capability. This includes supporting the delivery of climate risk assessments, climate impact analysis and adaptation action planning activities, climate related financial disclosure, emissions reporting and long-term climate change strategies.

Applicants who meet the focus capabilities outlined in the role description and have a strong understanding of NSW Government climate change policies and strategies, and experience working on climate risk management initiatives will be highly considered.
