About Great River City Light Rail


Western Sydney is one of the fastest growing regions in our country, with the population of Greater Parramatta alone set to climb by 50 per cent by 2041 and at Great River City Light Rail we want to create new communities, connect great places and help locals and visitors move around and explore what the region has to offer.

The new Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, spanning 12 kilometres and utilising state-of-the-art vehicles that delivers comfortable, user-friendly and high-performance services.

By 2026, around 28,000 people will use Parramatta Light Rail every day and an estimated 130,000 people will be living within walking distance of light rail stops.

We have completed the installation of all track and light rail stop overhead canopies.

Ongoing minor construction work continues, including the fit out of light rail stops, installation of power substations, light rail overhead wiring and underground cabling.

In addition, the Stabling and Maintenance Facility at Camellia continues to be transformed into a world-class facility with works underway to fit out the administration building and fleet maintenance workshop.


The role


Before transitioning into Operations phase and whilst we are in operational readiness phase there will be a focus on the development and implementation of the Environmental and Sustainability Management program.

This will be a dynamic role where you will be ensuring the business is compliance and working closely with stakeholders and regulatory bodies in supporting the business with improvement initiatives.

In addition, you will contribute to our current and future sustainability management strategies and there will also be the opportunity to coordinate the deliverables relating to our ISCA (Infrastructure Sustainability Council) accreditation.


What you bring


In addition to your tertiary qualifications (environmental science/management or related), you enjoy the dynamic nature of a project in completing deliverables.

You possess strong organisational and communication skills crucial to the role along with a genuine interest in driving environmental initiatives.

Whilst not essential exposure to the Rail Industry, Road / Construction is highly regarded as well as Infrastructure Sector Accredited Professional (ISAP) or other accreditation program experience.
