**About the role**:
The position will provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge in areas and may undertake some research and analysis activities.

The Parliamentary and Ministerial teams work as one section to support the interrelated functions of the business. The position will develop a sound understanding of the work of the section and have the capacity to work flexibly across both teams.

**Duties**
- Assist with the coordination of parliamentary processes including business appearances at senate estimates, committee hearings and Questions on Notice.
- Manage a shared mailbox including allocating tasks.
- Coordinate, draft and quality check Briefs, Ministerial Correspondence, Questions on Notice and Senate Briefs using the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS). Contribute to the branch’s corporate work program, reporting requirements and assist deliver branch governance obligations.

**Required experience/skills**
- Possess the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of ICT systems and familiarise yourself with new concepts and technologies to deliver high level support. High-level organisational and planning skills and attention to detail with demonstrated experience managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines within short timeframes and working independently and as a member of a team in a high-volume work environment.

**Desirable experience/skills**
- Demonstrated experience in effective people skills and the ability to engage clearly and confidently with stakeholders. Strong expertise in using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Project and Outlook and Parliamentary Document Management System.
