**About the role**:
The Policy Manager will be responsible for the development of the Polytechnic’s policy framework to
ensure it documents the Polytechnic’s position on key issues in a consistent and transparent manner which
promotes the Polytechnic’s values and facilitates compliance with internal and external legislation.
The Enterprise Risk and Compliance portfolio provides leadership, consultation and support within
Melbourne Polytechnic for governance, risk, compliance, internal audit, governance and fraud.
This position reports to the Director, Enterprise Risk and Compliance.

**Duties**:

- Manage the ongoing development, implementation and review of the Policy Framework, with respect to both academic and administrative policy.
- Manage the ongoing development, implementation and review of the Delegations Framework. This
includes ensuring that the delegations register is up-to-date.
- Manage and develop appropriate standards and controls to ensure the integrity, consistency and accuracy of Polytechnic policy documents. This includes developing and maintaining systems and processes to ensure accurate record-keeping, version control and monitoring of the status of policy
documents.
- Provide high level, strategic advice, accessible information and training programs in relation to the policy framework to all levels of the Polytechnic.

**Skills and experience required**:

- A Higher Education qualification and/or extensive experience and management expertise in policy
management within a large and complex organisation.
- Extensive experience in the conceptualisation, development, drafting, review and editing of policy and related documents.
- Strong conceptual and analytical ability and strong skills in problem solving, planning, organising and working autonomously.
- Highly developed critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, planning and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with respect to providing advice to and working collaboratively with all levels of staff in a complex organisation. This includes influencing others in the achievement of organisational outcomes in a calm and professional manner, establishing credibility and rapport, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
