Join our close-knit Business Development team and work with the Business Development Managers, engage with builders and developers within the end-to-end sales cycle of large complex sales pipelines, sell the benefits of gas conceptually, and match our client's energy challenges with our solutions.

What you will contribute to:

- Work collaboratively with the Business Development team to support the company’s expansion into new markets, as well as continued expansion among existing customers
- Foster relationships with relevant senior executives from building owners, land developers, councils, regulators, consultants and large builders to identify the market scope and opportunities
- Instrumental in implementing the strategy for meeting sales performance targets:

- growth in natural and renewable gas connections
- throughput targets through the gas distribution network
- revenue growth for existing customers
- revenue growth in unregulated income
- Work closely with the marketing department to analyse market strategies, deal requirements, potential and financials
- Compare the life cycle costs and benefits of energy solutions for buildings against gas technologies
- Liaise with relevant government authorities, land developers, builders, commercial businesses and other industry participants on business development and growth matters which affect the organisation’s operations
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and trends
- Work with the Business Development Coordinator to ensure data integrity and management of SalesForce governance
- Work with the Commercial Analyst to forecast sales targets and ensure that the team meets them
- Track and record activity on accounts and help to close the deals to meet targets
- Understand the company’s goal and purpose in order to continue to enhance the company’s performance

What you will bring:
**Essential**:

- Strong established networking skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders while being a team player who works across the organisation to bring SMEs in when required
- Experience working in a previous Business Development role including understanding of the sales process and customer relationship management
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of commercial or wholesale marketing
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to build relationships and liaise with stakeholders at all levels and of a wide variety of backgrounds
- Have a strong understanding of the WA building and land development
- Possess an understanding of building energy management systems and NABERS
- Excellent computer skills including the ability to utilise a range of information systems (MS Office & CRM Systems).
- Be self-motivated, able to implement agreed strategies consistent with business objectives and working collaboratively with your peers.
- **Desirable**:

- University degree qualification in Marketing, Media Studies, Communications, Engineering or
- Experience with building energy management systems and NABERS ratings
- Existing network of building/development contacts
- Understanding of the WA Gas Distribution Network and the future of renewable gas
- Experience using Salesforce in a customer-facing environment
