About the role

You will Successfully
- Maintain a mission l focus in all aspects of the position and work environment. Have a collaborative approach with all relevant TSA expressions to assist community members in a holistic manner
- Provide microfinance services to individuals and families by undertaking loan interviews face to face at A TSA office location, or by telephone, utilizing a client focused, strengths based approach.
- Communicate and work collaboratively with all relevant TSA expressions about the service generally and specifically about individual community members as needed.
- Provide equitable and efficient delivery of the program, ensuring all TSA policies and procedures and any appropriate government requirements are met.
- Build financial capability and resilience for community members to manage their money better and make informed choices, but not extending to financial counselling, financial advice options, or complex financial or legal matters. Manage arrears and follow up community members not currently paying their loan or experiencing financial difficulty and related issues repaying their loan.
- Conduct community education (financial literacy) sessions utilising the TSA “You’re the Boss” program approach and other appropriate resources, to help build people’s financial capability, resilience and to budget and manage their money better and make informed financial choices.
- Ensure appropriate client documentation, records, reporting and data collection is maintained.
- Provide appropriate information and referrals for community members to both the TSA network and external agencies, ensuring a collaborative and professional approach is undertaken in all activities.
- Participates in team activities and attend staff meetings when scheduled and demonstrates a supportive approach to other staff members which contributes to the overall success for the service and clients.

You Will Have
- Experience in welfare/community services environment, in particular exposure to family/domestic violence clients and DV support services.
- Aptitude for handling financial matters and a knowledge of money management.
- Understanding of the needs and an ability to work positively with those in financial hardship.
- Able to work with community members in a capacity building, non-judgmental and supportive manner.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related area.
- Diploma level qualification in welfare, community services, counselling or related areas.
- “Doorways” case work experience desirable.
- Qualifications, or progress towards qualifications in a financially-related area desirable.
- Understanding of the issues such as domestic violence, addictions, mental ill health and disabilities.
- Experience with community based microfinance.
- An understanding of the principles of microfinance.

This is a Part time position, 20 hours per week fixed term to 30 June 2025
