**Student Admissions Lead (Ongoing - Part Time) 2 days per week**

AFTRS is the national screen and broadcast school - the only Australian education institution to consistently make _The Hollywood Reporter_‘s prestigious annual list of the top film schools in the world. Working hand-in-hand with the screen and broadcast industries, AFTRS is a global centre of excellence that delivers the highest level of screen and broadcast education, training and research across Australia.

You will support the Head of Student Recruitment and Admissions to deliver accurate and detailed findings which ensure a diverse cohort, in line with AFTRS’ values. Working collaboratively with the First Nations and Outreach division, this role implements admissions practices that increase inclusion, with a particular focus on building a strong First Nations student cohort.

**About the role**:

- As the Student Admissions Lead at AFTRS, you will:_
- Manage the admissions process for all intakes of award and non-award courses at AFTRS, ensuring processes are in-line with governance protocols and external regulatory bodies (TEQSA).
- Manage the process of return for deferred students whilst ensuring appropriate communications are provided throughout the duration of a deferral.
- Work closely with First Nations and Outreach division to ensure culturally safe admissions process are embedded within the AFTRS Admissions process, this includes the design and negotiation of a First Nations specific admissions strategy.
- Develop annual benchmarking practices across the sector capturing information on courses, admissions process, and fee schedules; indicating best practice merit-based admissions processes.
- Brief the Head of Student Recruitment and Admissions on essential findings that are key to Admissions Committee occurrences. This includes the drafting of Award course papers and the relationship management of key internal stakeholders to ensure documentation is relevant and accurate for submission.
- Deliver Admission presentations at key AFTRS student recruitment events such as Open Day and Masters Week.

**About you - you will have**:

- Proven success in a similar role, preferably in a higher education organisation.
- Experience in managing relationships, handling complex enquiries and issues with tact and diplomacy, with a professional and personable approach.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills with the proven ability to work under pressure with limited supervision and to exercise initiative.
- An understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework and how they relate to student admissions.
- A sound working knowledge of CRM preferably Salesforce.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team.

**Salary: AFTRS Level 6 $76,839 (pro-rata), **_plus up to 15.4% superannuation and excellent benefits._
