About the Role
CAV is looking for enthusiastic individuals that are keen to use their skills and aptitudes to positively contribute to operations within the Investigation Services Branch (ISB) of CAV, located at 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne. CAV is looking for dynamic, professional and experienced investigators to join our team.
Working as a part of a dedicated team and reporting to their Team Manager, the Lead Investigator will have a strong background and experience in leading investigations culminating in early interventions and /or enforcement outcomes (including preparing briefs of evidence for legal proceedings in criminal, civil, and disciplinary matters) and using a range of risk-based compliance and enforcement tools and approaches.

**Some of your duties may include**:

- Lead and /or contribute to the development and implementation of CAV's risk-based compliance and enforcement program, mentoring and leading other investigators across the full spectrum of interventions, from targeted education engagements to enforcement.
- Develop, review and enhance investigation plans and conduct regular case reviews in consultation with managers and colleagues.
- Prepare and provide specialist technical advice, especially on large and/or complex compliance and enforcement cases.

About You
- Relevant knowledge of and/ or demonstrated experience in legislative enforcement activities particularly in relation to consumer protection legislation and policies.
- Conduct and lead complex civil and/or criminal investigations.
- Ability to prepare and support enforcement proceedings in Courts and Tribunals including preparing witness statements, civil/criminal briefs of evidence.
- Understanding of the function and relevant legislation of Consumer Affairs Victoria would be an advantage.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or equivalent is required. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Economics, Law or other related fields may be considered.
- Previous investigative experience is required.
- Minimum five years previous investigative and compliance/enforcement experience.
- A current Driver's Licence.
