The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) is an independent statutory authority that regulates Victoria's gambling industry. The organisation licenses, informs and educates, monitors and enforces the gambling industry through a risk-based approach to regulation. The opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Investigations and Probity the role responsibilities include leading and conducting regulatory investigations for the purpose of prosecution or disciplinary action. The role will also involve conducting Auditing,and performing enforcement functions. This role will be responsible for recommending appropriate enforcement actions, including commencing a criminal investigation or other enforcement action in accordance with VGCCC policies and procedures. As part of this role you are required to work at the VGCCC on-site office within the casino complex in Southbank
Who we are looking for
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in a compliance or regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise undertaking analysis and reporting of data.
- Substantial experience in conducting and managing complex investigations and preparing briefs.
- Experience and expertise in collecting and analysing information through questioning individuals, conducting record reviews, and examining documents
Key responsibilities
- Conduct investigations into alleged breaches of the legislation administered by the VGCCC, identify the issues to be investigated relating to relevant legislation, policy and/or operating procedures, and recommend appropriate action.
- Where required, liaise with external agencies to ensure greater industry compliance and monitor their investigative outcomes.
- Undertake auditing and observation of casino operations as part of investigations.
- Identify and investigate existing or potential risks of non-compliance or social harm arising from casino operations and work with the casino operator to identify, negotiate and implement appropriate responses to ameliorate that risk.
- Initiate appropriate compliance and enforcement action using appropriate judgement and discretion
