**Who we’re looking for**:
A high performing Sponsorship/Partnership Marketing Manager with proven experience in the development/execution of sponsorship/hospitality strategy, with the ability to engage and influence internal/external senior stakeholders, a strategic thinker, who can develop & executing partner plans, always considering opportunities to optimise partnership value or address under performance. Ability to work autonomously, hands on at times, but a collaborator, who actively contributes and supports the success of our high-performance marketing team.
**What you’ll be doing**:
The Marketing Manager, Sponsorship role is responsible for the development and execution of the Virgin Australia Group sponsorship and hospitality strategy. Reporting into the Head of Commercial, this role will lead the multi-stakeholder planning, execution, and performance management of a portfolio of commercial and community partners, with clearly defined performance deliverables. The role will lead our Group sponsorship committee, engaging and influencing multiple senior stakeholders both externally and internally, securing their commitment to inform and execute individual partner plans with a clearly defined strategy, objectives, kpis, reporting and schedule of activity, aligned to business objectives. The Marketing Manager, Sponsorship will address underperformance with corrective actions and execute plans to optimise partnership value and improve ROI from each partnership. Using insights this role will make informed and quality decisions, delivering continuous improvement.
**You’ll be great in this role if you**:
- Have a minimum 8+ years’ experience in a fast-paced marketing and commercially focused environment within a large organisation
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing/Communications or related discipline.
- Come with previous experience in leading sponsorship and/or partnership relationships with a proven record of delivering to KPIs.
- Are comfortable with managing overall budget preparation, implementation, and monitoring experience
- Have proven ability to build, influence, secure commitment and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships at a senior level
- Have extensive strategic, analytical, influencing and negotiation skills
- Have the motivation, drive, energy, and an ability to stay positive under pressure
- Come with a demonstrated ability to run large scale marketing campaigns and project teams through a variety of channels and mediums
- Are experienced with project implementation (including timings, budget, and production)
- Have a deep understanding of Virgin Australia’s consumer segment
- Have a strong understanding of creative and media agency processes
- Have previous event and large-scale activation experience (desirable)
- Complex contract negotiation (desirable)
