**University Diving Officer**
- Design, develop, improve and maintain our safe systems of work for diving and work in consultation to support high standards of safety and wellbeing performance more broadly

The Safety and Wellbeing unit is a specialist team responsible for providing advice and support to the University of Tasmania community to ensure that health and safety risks can be managed in line with the University’s Safety Management System. Its operations are committed to enabling our community to care for themselves and others and drive a values-driven culture where safety and wellbeing are front of mind, we trust and respect each other and take mutual accountability for our actions.

**The Opportunity**

**Key Accountabilities**
- Provide advice on university diving activities in consultation with key stakeholders (including the Dive Safety Committee) and partner collaboratively with Dive Officers, Dive Coordinators, other University diving personnel and People Leaders to support safe diving activities and identify improvements.
- Design, develop, improve and maintain our safe systems of work for diving in consultation with the dive community so that it inspires, supports and equips teams to meet their safety and wellbeing challenges at a local level.
- Work in consultation with other teams to ensure that a practical, compliant, efficient and effective system is in place to support high standards of safety and wellbeing performance.
- Establish and lead a process to conduct inclusive learning reviews to determine what is working well and what can be improved.

**Your Application**
- The following recent qualifications and knowledge as required within AS/NZS 2299.2 Occupational diving operations Part 2: Scientific diving for the role of Dive Officer:

- Certification to AS 2815.6 Restricted Scuba Diver or approved equivalent.
- Demonstrated extensive professional safety and wellbeing experience in a large and/or complex organisation, or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated experience in building interpersonal relationships and influencing stakeholders to invoke changed behaviours to safety and improve culture.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering well-articulated and visual resources (procedures, guidelines, training packages) for delivery to staff.
- Proven capacity to deliver outcomes effectively as a team member and independently.
- Well-developed project management skills with proven ability to balance competing demands, prioritise effectively and work to deadlines.

**Remuneration**

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $139,269 comprising base salary within the range of $104,688 to $119,034 plus 17% superannuation.
