JSA is an independent secondary statutory body situated in the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), and the Acting Commissioner is accountable to the Minister for Skills and Training. Our enabling legislation is the Jobs and Skills Australia Act 2022.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Assistant Director or Senior Research Officer, the Research and Stakeholder Officer will work in a small project team which is responsible for skills analysis and translation and stakeholder engagement.

This process may be used to fill current and future vacancies across JSA.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities at the **APS 5** level are:

- Conduct research and analysis on occupations, qualifications and skills using a variety of published and non-published material and data sources.
- Support research activities on taxonomies and provide recommendations on potential methodologies.
- Contribute to projects in accordance with decided goals, timelines, and budget, as directed.
- Draft regular reports, briefs, research papers, and fact sheets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

**Qualifications and Education**
Tertiary qualifications in an analytical discipline such as economics, finance, statistics, research, social science, or related fields are highly desirable.
