Policy Officer Role

The ACT Government's Policy Branch, Work Safety Group, is seeking a highly skilled Policy Officer to join their Stakeholder Engagement and Governance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide secretariat support for committees and other forums
  • Liaise with stakeholders and clients to build productive working relationships
  • Represent the ACT Government and the directorate as required
  • Provide advice on policy and program issues related to workplace health, safety, workers' compensation, and industrial relations
  • Undertake research and analysis to assist with policy review and development
  • Support the development and implementation of key projects for the Group
  • Draft complex documents for the Government, Ministers, and the Directorate
Requirements
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously
  • Organised and solutions-focused approach
  • Understanding of the ACTPS Code of Conduct and values
Eligibility
  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in law, workers' compensation, work health and safety policy, and public policy
  • Coordination and secretariat experience
