We are looking for Quality Safety and Compliance Officer to join our stable, safety focused company carrying out essential services.

**About the positions -**

This position reports directly to our Chief Operational Officer and Director. The role forms a critical part of the core leadership team and is charged with designing, planning, and implementing health and safety programs, prevention activities and audits. You will be pivotal in driving HSE strategy development and responsible for championing governance and compliance.

The roles feature the working hours of 8am to 4pm onsite within Metro Melbourne, Monday to Friday, Full Time.

Daily Duties include:

- Assist with the implementation and ongoing management of our new Safety Management System
- Develop, prepare, present and distribute reports (Including running monthly Safety meetings with the Senior Management team)
- Conduct gap analysis - Analyzing trends and data, reporting on HSE performance
- Conduct audits of systems and sites
- Recommend risk control measures
- Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement
- Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding industry rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards
- Working with our HR Manager to ensuring procedures, policies, legislation and regulations are correctly followed and complied with.
- Drive workplace cultural change through focus on positive behavioral safety practices;
- Ensuring staff are motivated, trained and adhere to safety practices.

**About you -**
- Experience in a similar role (minimum 2 years) in a similar industry (Vegetation Control around powerlines) _ideal but not essential _
- Business or Administration experience;
- Good interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external Stakeholders;
- Good verbal communication;
- High attention to detail and ability to record and report;
- Proven ability to successfully achieve results with mínimal supervision;
- Ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously and with conflicting priorities;
- Intermediate or advance Microsoft Office skills;
- Have expert understanding of WHS legislation;
- Hold Professional qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety (Cert IV) or equivalent;
- Able to show initiative;
- Have a can-do attitude;
- Be motivated, positive and strategic minded, driving and managing HSE improvements;
