**Role**:

- The core duties of the Assistant Coordinator (OSHCP) are listed below. Other duties may be required to be performed from time to time at the direction and discretion of the OSHCP Coordinator._

**ROLE**

To assist with the coordination of the Out of School Hours Care Program. The OSHCP Assistant Coordinator assists the OSHCP Coordinator to ensure that:

- the quality of care provided for the children is of a high standard.
- the service complies with the Children’s Services Regulations and the National Quality Framework for OSHCP and the relevant school policies and procedures.
- the educational and recreational programs offered are undertaken in a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment for all children attending the program.
- other OSHCP staff and volunteers are supervised.
- the purchasing of food, drink and other consumables is completed in a timely manner and within the budget.

**Responsibilities**:
**RESPONSIBILITIES**

In the absence of the coordinator, manage the day-to-day operations of the OSHCP program which includes responsibility for the supervision, direction and support of staff in the program.

T**o assist the OSHCP co-ordinator with**:

- the day-to-day use of the Qikkids program to manage program bookings and receipts.
- use of the Child Care Management System program to assist clients/families to access Centrelink payments.
- coordinating the Active After School Care program.
- fostering a team approach and ensure all staff are contributing to the maintenance of high program standards.
- planning to develop a program of interesting and stimulating activities and events for primary school aged children.
- promoting an environment where children, staff and parents feel comfortable and welcome. Encourage comment about the program.
- providing a program which gives children opportunities to make choices and give them ownership of the program.
- providing appropriate induction for new staff and students.
- directing OSHCP staff about daily duties.
- coordinating staff work schedules.
- establishing and maintain strong lines of communication between all program users. Provide school web site administrator with up-to-date information at least once per term for inclusion on school web page.
- maintaining confidentiality of all staff and families in the program.
- providing a nutritious, enjoyable, and adequate breakfast and afternoon snack for all children.
- ensuring all children are always supervised both indoors and outdoors.
- coordinating the purchasing and issuing procedures as per school policy.
- ensuring that adequate materials and equipment are available.
- ensuring that materials are used safely and receive regular maintenance compliant with OH&S and DEECD requirements.
- enforcing Mount Martha Primary School rules in accordance with school values, the Student Code of Conduct and other relevant policies eg SunSmart
- undertaking relevant Professional Development.
- processes for student safety eg. Sign in/out by parent/guardian, toileting procedures
- creating and distributing OSHCP term newsletter

**REPORTS**
- The Assistant Coordinator reports to the OSHCP Coordinator and Convenor of the OSHCP Sub Committee of School Council.
