**About the role**

You will provide high level customer service and specialist ceramic skills to support classes in Ceramics. You will support a positive learning environment by ensuring suitable materials are prepared for practical classes, and by maintaining equipment and monitoring and ordering supplies, some cleaning and housekeeping form part of the role.

Casual opportunities at Kingswood, Katoomba and Castle Hill Campus’ with occasional travel to other campuses in the TAFE NSW Western Sydney region.

**About You**

You will be customer service focused, you enjoy sharing your experience and knowledge in ceramics with students to support them on their TAFE NSW learning journey. You have a demonstrated commitment to WHS and proven ability in identifying risks, undertaking assessments, and identifying controls in your area of responsibility.

You have competence in operating machinery and equipment for ceramic classes, including firing kilns and mixing glazes. You will monitor and respond to potential WHS (Work, Health & Safety) risks. Some lifting and manual handling is required in this position. Additionally, you will be proficient with the use of computers.

**The successful applicant will**:

- Hold certificate IV in Fine Arts - Ceramics or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience appropriate to the role.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience of use, care and maintenance of tools, equipment, materials and techniques used in trade/vocation/skills area applicable to the role.
- Proven ability to create, modify or adapt equipment or other resources to meet particular requirements.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work as a member of a team with mínimal supervision in area relating to the role.

**Highly Regarded**
- Minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience in Ceramics.
