**About the team**
The University Secretariat, as part of the Governance Directorate, is responsible for the oversight, coordination and operation of formal corporate and academic governance structures of the University facilitating the University’s corporate and academic decision-making processes through the provision of confidential, reliable and comprehensive secretariat, advisory and consultative service to the University’s governing body, the Senate and its standing committees, the Chancellor, University Executive, Chair of Academic Board, and university employees on University legislation, governance, policies and procedures.

**About the opportunity**
Reporting to the University Secretary and joining a small team based centrally at UWA’s Crawley campus, you will consult with key internal and external stakeholders to provide high quality executive, governance and administrative support to the Senate and standing committees, while identifying and managing continuous improvement and enhanced performance initiatives in relation to University’s Secretariat’s systems, processes, and services.

**About you**
You will have relevant tertiary qualifications as well as successful completion, or significant progress toward, formal qualifications in corporate governance from the Governance Institute of Australia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors or similar. You will also have substantial relevant senior administrative experience in a similar large, complex organisation including provision of executive officer or committee services support and management of or contribution to a range of enterprise initiatives, along with highly developed research skills and a demonstrated ability to design and implement operational improvements and efficiencies. In addition, you will demonstrate the ability to ensure confidentiality in all activities of the University Secretariat. Those with experience in board management software e.g., Diligent Boards, Board Effect or similar are encouraged to apply.
