**About the team**

University Hall (UniHall) is the residential college of the University of Western Australia and home to over 750 students and staff. It is located opposite UWA, the Swan River and Kings Park.

**About the opportunity**

The Facilities Manager leads a team of housekeeping and maintenance staff and is responsible for all aspects of the facilities at University Hall, which includes the buildings, grounds, maintenance, waste management, vehicle parking, and compliance & safety. These areas require contract management with external trades and commercial providers and close liaison with UWA Campus Management. The Facilities Manager is also responsible for the implementation of strategy and project management to continually improve and maintain the facilities within University Hall.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
- Demonstrated facility and project management skills, preferably in a residential or educational environment
- Extensive knowledge of related building codes, fire codes, standards and industry regulations
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff, including the development and recruitment of staff
- Demonstrated ability to identify and champion new developments in relation to facilities, information technology including the ability to recognise and take advantage of new opportunities
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and maintain strategic and business relationships
- Experience in purchasing, contracts management and risk management
