**The Role**
Make a difference in our community

Your role will oversee our high performing Planning and Policy Implementation team who prepare and implement planning policies, strategies, position papers, submissions and planning scheme amendments for Council. The diversity of the City of Whittlesea as a municiapality means the team works across a wide variety of challenging planning issues including housing, environment, the green wedge and heritage.

Current work priorities for the team including preparing a Liveable Neighbourhood Strategy, implementation of the recentlty adopted Green Wedge Management Plan, an Amendment to implement the Planning Scheme Review and implementation of other recently Council adopted strategies.

In addition, to the stimulating project work, you will also assist and guide the professional development of your team as well as championing initiatives that support the continuous improvement of the team.

**About you**

Your communication skills will be highly developed including effective report writing, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to present and explain complex planning policy and concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders.

You will have proven experience and skills in leading teams and coaching others to achieve agreed goals/project timelines, and in mentoring individuals to develop and maximise their potential
