**The Role**
Make a difference in our community
This role is responsible for supporting the Ageing Well Department to enable residents of the City of Whittlesea aged 50+ to remain independent, connected, active, informed and well. This is achieved through engaging with community partners, implementing the ‘Positive Ageing Strategy for the Whittlesea Municipality 2016-2025’ and providing leadership in the delivery of the Council’s Positive Ageing Program.
Key components of Council’s Positive Ageing Program include:
- LEAP Program - Let Everyone Actively Participate
- Social Support Groups (community connections and respite)
- Volunteer Program
- Senior citizen club support
- Activating social connections and promoting healthy ageing including leading the seamless transition of access to service and programs
- Specialised services (as required)
- Place based and centre-based service delivery
- Leading responses related to combating ageism, elder abuse, senior citizens festival etc.
**About you**
We are seeking a dynamic leader with extensive demonstrated experience in policy, strategy and program development.
You will have experience with leading teams to develop and deliver innovative positive ageing programs and providing strategic leadership and management.
Tertiary qualifications in Human Services / Allied Health / Social Sciences or equivalent are essential.
