**About the role**:
Reporting to the Team Leader, Central Dispatch, the Response Dispatch Officer is a member of a team responsible for coordinating and supporting EPA’s timely and appropriate response to incidents and emergencies related to pollution and waste. You will use your initiative within EPA’s standard operating procedures to prioritise workflow in supporting the delivery of the EPA’s central triage. Managing the dispatch function for incident and emergency response, aligned to EPA’s strategic priorities to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.
This is an exciting role for someone that wants to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. You will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and ensure you achieve the highest standards of performance and integrity; and foster genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to support the delivery organisational outcomes.
**In this role you will**:
- Under direction of the Team Leader, Central Dispatch, deliver EPA’s central triage and dispatch function for incoming pollution and waste reports from the community, business, and governments; monitoring and assessing incoming reports and notifications; ensuring adequate information is obtained to assess risk to the environment and human health.
- Perform key roles in emergency and incident response, including out of hours work as required.
- Contribute to a consistent and efficient approach to incident and emergency triage and dispatch, including the establishment and implementation of quality control systems; driving continuous improvement; developing procedures and processes.
- Contribute to the uplift in emergency and incident response capability across the EPA, including the implementation of our emergency management rostering system Power Roster.
**Skills and experience**:
- Experience in incident and emergency management is desirable.
- Demonstrated capability to manage management of risks, prioritisation of tasks, monitoring of workflow; and contributing to the evaluation of project/program effectiveness; use of initiative to identify, communicate, and address delivery risks and opportunities to improve organisational outcomes.
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in utilising various CRM systems, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics, to effectively manage and analyse customer interactions and data.
- Proven ability to engage with internal and external stakeholder and communicate effectively with members of the Victorian public. Ability to clearly communicate with fellow code regulators within team.
- Proven ability to work as an effective member of a cohesive team, with a demonstrated commitment to the successful delivery of the highest organisational priorities; proven capability to build and sustain enduring relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of outcomes and achievement of goals and targets.
