**Your new role**:
This is a great opportunity to join the Healthy and Safe Communities Team - Community Wellbeing Department at Knox City Council.

You will have excellent analytical and problem solving skills to inform the development of evidence based prevention responses to community safety and crime prevention priorities including problem gambling and alcohol related harm.

Key responsibilities will include providing specialist skills and knowledge to develop, implement and evaluate strategies, policies and initiatives, undertake crime prevention through environmental design audits and staff education as required, develop integrated approaches to project delivery with key stakeholders, and actively participate in Community Wellbeing portfolio areas and relevant projects identified in the Community Wellbeing Department Business Plan.

This is a part time permanent role.4 EFT (2 days) position at the Knox Civic Centre with a range of flexible work options.

This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $92,933 - $ 101, 496 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

**What you will need to thrive**:

- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of implementing community safety and crime prevention programs including problem gambling and alcohol related harm interventions in a local government setting.
- Substantial knowledge, skills and experience in community development, planning processes, prevention practice models particularly in community safety and crime prevention.
- Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, policy development and project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Demonstrated skills in critical and analytical thinking and problem solving.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills including negotiation and an ability to develop innovative solutions to identified issues.
- An ability to prioritise workloads and manage time effectively to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good facilitation skills and the ability to engage and motivate a diversity of participants/stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and prepare reports.
- Demonstrated experience in working within a community development discipline.
