**Medical Administrator - Locum Coverage**

**Position Overview**: The Medical Administrator will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the front desk of a medical specialist practice. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks that contribute to the smooth functioning of the clinic. The role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism while interacting with patients and colleagues.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Patient Check-in**: Greet patients warmly, verify their appointments, and accurately register them in the clinic's system. Provide a welcoming and informative environment for patients upon arrival.
- ** Data Entry and Scanning**: Enter patient information into the electronic medical records system accurately. Scan and upload relevant patient records and documents into the system for future reference.
- ** Billing and Claims**: Prepare and process patient billing after their appointments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Complete and submit claims to Medicare or other relevant insurance providers.
- ** Communication**: Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, clinicians, and other administrative staff. Answer phone calls and inquiries courteously and efficiently.
- ** File Management**: Retrieve patient files and records as needed for appointments, ensuring proper organisation and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- ** Office Closure**: Ensure that the clinic's front desk is appropriately closed at the end of each day, including turning off equipment, securing files, and preparing the space for the next business day.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Proven experience in medical administration or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient data entry and computer skills.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with medical billing procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with patients and colleagues.
