About the role
The Procurement Officer/Buyer provides support to Lifeblood teams ensuring timely and efficient processing of administrative tasks including contract and purchasing administration and liaison with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
The Buyer acts as a key contact between Lifeblood and its suppliers after contracts and service level agreements have been negotiated. The role also supports the operational departments that require goods and services to deliver the business. The role has a strong service focus and a strong focus on compliance, problem solving, reporting and continuous improvement.

Numerical, abstract and verbal communication skills
Familiarity and experience of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) materials management system, including master item codes, requisition to purchase order (PO) and goods receipting/invoice receipting.
Familiarity and experience in providing exceptional internal and external customer service
Experience with off catalogue sourcing and spot buying
Competent in using the Microsoft Office suite of productivity tools, including Word and Excel (pivot tables)
Basic IT knowledge
Demonstrated effective communications, problem solving and decision-making skills
Organisational skills, including self-direction to ensure timelines are met
Ability to undertake routine work and work to standard operating procedures
Experience adopting new technologies and adapting to new ways of working
Understanding of safety principles
