Melbourne, Australia ALSTOM Full time

Req ID:430056

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 74,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Do you describe yourself as willing to learn, approachable and enjoy working with others and building relationships? Do you have some experience in purchasing or managing purchase order processes? Enjoy being organized and timelines are met? Do you live or would you be willing to live in Ballarat and join a team of people with a wide range of backgrounds, skills, experiences, personal interests but who all share a common goal to do their best to deliver a major rail project for Victoria?

Sound something like you? Sounds like our **Material Planner **role might be a great match then. (You might also hear this called a Purchasing Officer or Procurement Officer).

There are two vacancies available due to the growth phase of the project and will join an experienced manager and colleagues within the Supply Chain team, providing excellent training and guidance as you find your way and build your career with us.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the purchase order processes, being the point of contact for relevant suppliers and ensuring materials are delivered on time and adequate stock levels are maintained.
You’ll be using SAP (some experience would be great but not essential) to ensure scheduling, stock levels, timeframes and supplier agreements are accurately recorded and managed. Additionally, you’ll be involved in following up deliveries and goods availability, contribute to the Supply Chain objectives and ensure all planned and ad-hoc procurement requirements are fulfilled.

**What we are looking for;**
- Some experience in purchasing, procurement or material planning
- A detailed oriented approach with confidence using online systems (such as SAP) to record and manage data, stock levels and schedules
- Proficient in microsoft excel
- Someone who likes to make and maintain relationships, is proactive and can be adaptable and willing to learn

If you think this sounds like you but might not be sure about what a material planner does day to day, or you have specific working requirements (part time, non-standard working hours etc), please reach out and I’m happy to share more about the role and our values as an organization to support our people.

An agile, inclusive and responsible culture is the foundation of our company where diverse people are offered excellent opportunities to grow, learn and advance in their careers. We are committed to encouraging our employees to reach their full potential, while valuing and respecting them as individuals. We are an equal opportunity employer and strongly encourage women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, people with disability and other minority groups to apply.
