Urban Rest Apartments is Australia's premier serviced accommodation provider. Over the past 5 years, we have disrupted a stagnant sector with a technology enabled business uniquely focused on traveler well-being and sustainability. We have experienced rapid growth with properties operational in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra and a recent international expansion to Dublin and London. We have strong customer loyalty and are now going through a period of rapid scaling across ANZ and Europe.

**The opportunity**

Urban Rest is looking for a gun of a Business Development Executive to join our fast growing commercial team in Melbourne.

The Business Development Executive is responsible for targeting, acquiring and onboarding of new corporate customers for UR’s accommodation footprint in Australia. They use their range of business development techniques to find suitable accounts to match with our accommodation network, with a particular focus in pre-opening or other project focused work.

This role requires frequent travel within Australia and somewhat internationally when working on new projects or pre-opening.

**What you will do**:
Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as calling and face to face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking. (65%)
- Establish relationships and secure contracts with new customers that achieve assigned sales quotas and targets.
- Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to contracting and handover to Account Management and reservations team.
- Appropriately manage RFPs where required, coordinating internal stakeholders and ensuring timely submission. Negotiate rates and ensure contractual obligations are documented appropriately.
- Work closely with UR’s Revenue & Distribution team to ensure UR product, rates and availability are distributed to the travel partner and bookable

Appropriately document leads, opportunities and market intelligence in UR Salesforce to provide clear visibility on the opportunity pipeline. (15%)

Undertake site inspections at UR product, showcasing apartments and facilities where possible (5%)

Research and strategic planning; research project and ongoing developments within market that could result in strategic opportunities (10%)

Working closely with the wider commercial team (Corporate Sales, Reservations, Revenue Management and Marketing) to take advantage of commercial opportunities and ensure profitability of the wider UR network. (5%)

- Very strong relationship skills; ability to manage different types of stakeholders and personalities.
- Highly commercial and entrepreneurial; seeing new opportunities to grow revenue, profitability and network growth.
- Strong communication skills
- Problem solving skills; being able to find solutions to alleviate pain points for clients.
