The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for the leadership of operational and strategic IT teams, and will also contribute as an active member of the leadership team within shared services. This includes managing the work within IT teams, providing coaching and leadership for staff, being a technology champion and hands on within the areas of expertise for the role. The CTO will be expected to build organisational technology capabilities, and will be digitally savvy, capable of influencing at all levels of the organisation in order to pro-actively identify opportunities to enhance service delivery. As an experienced IT executive you have honed your stakeholder management skills in the pursuit of offering innovative technology solutions. Your success is premised on your inspiring leadership and building effective partnerships with service providers. The Essential Services Commission is Victoria's independent economic regulator of essential services supplied by a range of industries. The commission's functions include:

- making regulatory decisions with respect to prescribed industries (including price determinations, licensing, customer protection and access disputes).
