**Description**:
The Opportunity
The People & Culture (P&C) team actively contributes to fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment. They provide comprehensive HR services including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning & development, and compliance reporting. Additionally, they collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with the organisation's goals and values, offering guidance on employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance. The team ensures adherence to employment laws, facilitates policy development, and maintains accurate HR records while promoting a supportive and compliant workplace culture.
What you’ll do
- Support the P&C team in managing all people & safety systems and operations of the People Team

Assist with recruitment efforts, including job posts, reviewing CV's, interview coordination, pre-hire documentation, and onboarding new employees
Support new hires through the onboarding journey
Maintain up to date employee records
Administer necessary employment checks as required
Prepare documents such as employee contracts, employee letters, position descriptions and others as needed
Assist with monitoring and completion of safety incidents by people leaders.
Assist with L&D requirements for employees
Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions as needed
Ensure high quality and accurate HR administration and record keeping, always maintaining confidentiality and privacy obligations
**Skills and Experiences**:
**What you'll bring**:
You should have a relevant tertiary qualification in HR management or a related field, with sound knowledge of a broad range of HR functions and systems. Experience in P&C or HR coordinator/administrator roles in public/community, private housing sectors, or similar fields, with a proven track record in developing and improving HR practices and implementing best practices, is essential.
- Genuine interest in social justice and the not-for-profit sector
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in HR/Business or similar discipline
- Proven experience in a similar HR Generalist related role
- Experience with onboarding practices, including the management of probationary periods and relevant employment related checks.
- An interest in the ongoing, continuous improvement of our HR practice
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-driven to ensure the People & Culture function achieves its desired outcomes
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
- A pragmatic and outcome focused approach with proven ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Thrive in new situations.
