**About the role**

The Manager Licensing works closely with the Office of the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority ensuring the Authority has all relevant information to support their decision making. This can be a very dynamic environment in assessing new and innovative business models to balance the development of the industry with the expectations, needs and aspirations of the community.

The Manager Licensing is responsible for the effective, efficient, impartial and consistent management of designated core licensing and approvals functions, including making assigned statutory decisions in order to achieve regulatory objectives, promote the integrity of regulated sectors and further the public interest.

The role has a significant focus on providing timely, accurate information and support to customers and stakeholders, contributing to reviews of licensing-related requirements and the continual improvement of designated licensing and approvals operations.

**A**bout you**
- You will have experience in effective, efficient, impartial and consistent management of designated government regulatory licensing and approvals functions.
- You will have exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal, to provide advice and support to the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority; staff and senior managers, on designated core licensing and approvals functions
- You will have demonstrated experience providing timely, accurate information and support to customers and stakeholders.
- You will be a people leader, developing and empowering team members to be efficient, effective and productive
- You will have demonstrated experience in statutory interpretation and administrative law decision making, in order to achieve regulatory objectives, promote the integrity of regulated sectors and further the public interest
- You will possess stakeholder engagement experience to lead consultation and engagement with stakeholders to negotiate and influence outcomes, to manage issues, and to build awareness and capability in the team to ensure regulatory objectives are met.
- You will have highly collaborative skills to develop and maintain effective collaboration with other directorates in Hospitality and Racing and the Office of the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority
- You will show a willingness and capacity to ‘think outside the square’, to put in place new processes and procedures to deliver better, more efficient and effective outcomes for Hospitality and Racing and our customers.
