**Job Summary**: As we continue to innovate and adapt to the changing landscape of our industry, we are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager who is enthusiastic about being a part of our dynamic journey and be a pivotal player in shaping the future of our business.

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Vendor Management**:

- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with food suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors.
- Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and agreements with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery of quality products.

**2. Inventory Management**:

- Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
- Monitor inventory turnover rates and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
- Forecast demand and plan procurement to ensure product availability.

**3. Warehouse Operations**:

- Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to receive stock, storage, distribution, and palletisation of goods.
- Picking of stock for customer orders and delivery deadlines as required.
- Conducting regular stocktaking in conjunction with the Warehouse Supervisor to analyse and report on inventory levels.

**4. Cost Control**:

- Analyse cost factors, pricing trends, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality.
- Manage the budget for the purchasing department.

**5. Order Placement Expertise**:

- Demonstrate a strong ability to efficiently place orders with suppliers, ensuring accurate quantities, specifications, and delivery schedules with our inventory management platform, Unleashed.
- Collaborating closely with Customer Service to accurately enter order details into internal databases and inventory platform Unleashed.
- Implement streamlined order processing procedures to minimise errors and maximise efficiency.

**6. Compliance & Documentation**:

- Stay up to date with industry regulations and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Maintaining updated records of products and stock, delivery information, transport costs and invoices.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and contracts.

**7. Exceptional Communication Skills**:

- Exhibit outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Clearly convey expectations, requirements, and feedback to ensure smooth operations.

**8. Team Leadership**:

- Support office staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence.
- Promote adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

**Qualifications**:

- Proficient in the Unleashed inventory platform (or similar) and Xero/MYOB Accounting suites.
- Experienced in using PC or MacBook, Google and Microsoft suites.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing and procurement within the Food service and Distribution industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
