The Opportunity

The Development Lead will develop mid - major funding relationships with individuals, trusts and foundations and corporates. The role will work with the Head of Development to build and embed a School-wide fundraising strategy that will deliver sustainable revenue growth. The primary responsibility of the role is to drive relationships with a portfolio of major donors. The role will also project manage annual giving and support activities in bequests, stewardship, reporting and administration.

Some key accountabilities will include:

- Manage and develop a portfolio of major prospects ($10k+ annual) including individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporates.
- Identify, research and qualify major portfolio prospects in their linkage, interest and ability to support MBS.
- Tailor the case, content and copy development of funding proposals to meet donor interest.
- Steward donors with reports, case studies, and acquittals that show program delivery and impact.
- Lead in the Dean’s Circle program proposition and benefits for mid-value annual donor renewals, reactivations and acquisition.
- Support in the design and delivery of two annual giving campaigns for the Alumni audience.
- Produce periodic progress tracking and performance reports on donor and donation measures.
- Contribute to CRM donor data architecture, inputs and management processes for data integrity for accurate reporting of donors, campaigns, pledged donations and income reports.
- Collaborate with Finance on donation accounts administration, donation invoicing and receipting, donation reconciliation reports, endowment income and allocation reports.

About you

You will bring to us significant experience in relationship management of individuals, trusts and foundation/corporates in the education, medical, arts or similar sector. You are an energetic and positive person who is able to identify, qualify and nurture donor relationships.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

- Minimum bachelor’s degree; postgraduate qualifications in marketing /management/ business preferred.
- Demonstrable record of achieving financial targets and other growth performance indicators.
- Experience in exceptional donor stewardship and recognition activities.
- Demonstrable proficiency in customer/supporter databases such as Dynamics.
- Ability to make strategic relationship connections and see funding opportunities.
- Strong collaboration ability that builds alliances with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Results-focused and goal-oriented with a “roll up the sleeves” approach.
