Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and state-wide. **About the **North Eastern Public Health Unit (NEPHU)**

NEPHU is one of nine public health units in Victoria: three in metropolitan Melbourne and six covering regional Victoria. Together these units form a coordinated network, working in partnership with the Department of Health to deliver a comprehensive public health program for Victoria. The NEPHU is led and coordinated by Austin Health with responsibility spanning approximately 1.81m people living in the northeast of metropolitan Melbourne. We work collaboratively to improve the health and wellbeing of the NEPHU population through health promotion, prevention and protection activity. We do this through evidence informed population and place-based responses to current and emerging health needs and emergencies. In this way we contribute to a vision of active connected and safe communities for all - with healthy places, healthy people and a healthier tomorrow. The NEPHU is proud of its diverse multidisciplinary team who provide a service across extended hours seven days per week.

**About the role**

The Education and Capability Development Lead is responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation of strategies, tools and activities that build, enhance and maintain the capability of the NEPHU workforce. The role will develop the NEPHU education and capability framework that underpins the approach to education at all stages of development for a range of disciplines. They will lead and coordinate the NEPHU student and staff education programs and provide expert support and advice across the NEPHU team.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

- Tertiary qualification in education, workplace training or other relevant field, or equivalent workplace experience.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of contemporary frameworks and approaches to education and capability development in the health and/or not for profit sector.
- Significant experience successfully building, developing and managing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of adult learning, workplace-based learning principles and best practice instructional design.
- Knowledge and experience in eLearning and use of learning management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, coach and promote the professional competence of other staff.
