**A bit about the role**
Wyndham City Council is the fastest-growing municipality in Australia, providing unique opportunities and challenges in how we deliver a growing library service across a young and diverse community.
To ensure we continue to meet the needs of our community, our services are forever changing and expanding.
Our service currently includes 5 Library Branches, 2 Library Lounges, and our Library Pop-up Van to deliver outreach services by taking popular library programs and a small collection to locations across Wyndham.
Due to the continued growth of the municipality and our library services, it’s only natural that the operations of our library services have expanded as well. To support this, we have split our Library Operation function into 2 positions. As one of two **Library Operations Coordinators**, you will be leading the frontline library operations and collection services across Wyndham City Council’s extensive library service.
In this role you will oversee the operational elements of our library branches, with leadership of our Library Branch Coordinators and our Collections Service. You will undertake roster analysis, understanding borrowing patterns, ensuring we have the right collections, both physical and digital. You will have responsibility in leading occupation health and safety including incident management, budgeting, business planning and reporting obligations. As the service we deliver changes rapidly, the opportunities to support our community learning is constantly evolving, so is the need to evaluate our workforce, provide training, and ensure that our staff are up-skilled and responsive to community need, which is why we maintain a 3 year training outlook.
Your extensive leadership experience will be pivotal to the future of our services, autonomous decision making, a key characteristic to success. Driving a supportive and innovation culture in how we continue to meet our growing population in our new and emerging communities. The ongoing challenge we face is how we scale our library operations and services in a growing a municipality, doing things differently and using innovation, for instance our outreach services has been key in how we continue to rollout library services to meet demand.

**What you’ll deliver**
- Play a key leadership role of Wyndham City Libraries as part of the Library leadership team
- Provide leadership, motivation and support in developing and implementing industry leading frontline library operations and collection services
- Support and promote the learning, engagement and effective performance of staff across library operations in conjunction with our Library Branch Coordinators
- Lead a customer outcome and continuous improvement culture
- Oversee and respond to operational Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) hazards and risks in a timely manner in accordance with Council Policy
- Coordinate and manage designated branch operational, collections, training, and staffing budgets
**What you’ll bring**
- Demonstrated leadership experience, public library experience highly desirable
- Continual improvement mindset, ensuring library services are effectively meeting community needs
- Customer-centric approach, tailoring library services to achieve great outcomes for the Wyndham community
- Ability to successfully lead a large team in a changing environment continually achieving performance and service targets
- A flexible, facilitative approach to problem solving, and conflict resolution
- Strong experience in staff management and leadership, including, including equal employment opportunity, occupational health & safety, and training
- Degree qualifications in relevant areas of Library Services along with substantial relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience
